Choosing a Site for Your Money Making Blog - a Guideline

Choosing a Site for Your Money Making Blog - a Guideline

by Louis Kinchel

For those just starting out in the blogging business, you're probably wondering which site is best to start your blog with. The three most popular blogging sites that most bloggers choose for their business needs are Blogger, WordPress and Live Journal.

You need to check each one because not all blogging sites are good for advertisements. Here's a short comparison of the three sites listed here to help you choose what's best for you and your niche:

Learn More about the Blogger - Since it's the easiest one of the 3 to set up, it's usually made up of beginners. Simply sign up for an account and they take you step by step through the process of getting a blog started.

Blogger is affiliated with Google, so even signing up for the AdSense ads is extremely easy to do. They walk you through that as well. For those without blogging experience and want to get launched without hassle, this site is recommended even if there are less blog templates to choose from.

2. WordPress - If you are to start a blog, this site is a bit more complicated. Unlike the Blogger, there's more to set up but they will still walk you through the process. Marketers who has experience in blogging can move their blogs when they're comfortable because WordPress allows you to export blogs to your domain.

There are many templates to choose from and people also create free templates which you can download as long as you give them credit on the bottom of the blog. When you're promoting to a niche audience, this would be perfect because you can choose a theme to set the tone of the site.

3. Live Journal - This is an excellent community-driven blogging site. There's a paid account option as well as a free account to blog. Unfortunately, you have to upgrade to a paid account to use most of its features.

Since ads are a paid account benefit, this is not a good option for making money from ads. If you have a paid account, advertisers can pay you to place ads to your blog.

The free account is good for use as a networking tool to get others to visit your blog on another site where you could make money. It can be considered as a feeder blog which funnels the readers.

There are many other blogging sites out there to choose from, but most offer paid accounts to utilize the best services they have. A free account is your best option if you want the costs to be kept low and the potential high.

You can always upgrade later on and get a paid account with one of the other sites. Be sure to research those sites to determine which one offers what you need. These sites will give you the best opportunities for bringing income on the Internet regardless if you're a beginner or an advanced blogger.
